Matthew 4 • Why do Christians Fast?

In this message we learn: Fasting is more than just giving up food—it’s a spiritual discipline modeled by Jesus Himself. Before facing temptation in the wilderness, Jesus fasted for 40 days to strengthen Himself in the presence of God (Matthew 4:1-11). But why does fasting matter for us today?

We’re Nathan + Hannah Sanchez.

Our journey to Covenant Community Church began with a call to build a faith-centered community right here in Washington. After years of serving in various churches and seasons of prayerful waiting, we felt God’s leading to plant a church grounded in discipleship, biblical teaching, and missional living. What started as a small gathering in a living room has grown into a thriving community passionate about following Jesus together. We can’t wait to get to know you and walk alongside you in faith!
