Jonah 1-4 • Jonah Series (Part 1)

In this sermon, we dive into the incredible story of Jonah—a prophet called by God who does the exact opposite of what he’s commanded. While many know Jonah as the prophet swallowed by a great fish, the deeper message of this book reveals God’s heart—not just for the Ninevites, but for Jonah himself.

Jonah 1-4 • Jonah Series (Part 2)

In this sermon, we explore Jonah 4, a powerful chapter that reveals the heart of God toward sinners and His desire for repentance. Jonah’s struggle with God's mercy toward Nineveh challenges us to examine our own hearts—do we reflect God’s compassion, or do we resist His call to reach the lost?

Jonah 1-4 • Jonah Series (Part 3)

In this message from our Jonah series, we explore God's divine prerogative to call people—not just in a general sense to follow Him, but in specific moments to fulfill His will on earth. From Noah to Moses, Gideon to Jonah, we see that God often calls the least expected, the unprepared, and even the unwilling.

Jonah 1-4 • Jonah Series (Part 4)

In this message from our Jonah series, we examine what true repentance looks like through the story of Jonah and the people of Nineveh. While Jonah acknowledged God’s authority, his repentance was incomplete. In contrast, the Ninevites responded with urgency, humility, and action—modeling a repentance that led to God’s mercy.

Matthew 4 • Why do Christians Fast?

In this message we learn: Fasting is more than just giving up food—it’s a spiritual discipline modeled by Jesus Himself. Before facing temptation in the wilderness, Jesus fasted for 40 days to strengthen Himself in the presence of God (Matthew 4:1-11). But why does fasting matter for us today?

Acts 1:1-11 • The Acts of the Holy Spirit Through the Apostles

In this sermon, we unpack the significance of Jesus' final words, the disciples' mission, and the unstoppable work of the Holy Spirit in establishing His Church. The Kingdom of God is advancing, and we are called to be part of it.

Acts 1 • How To Discern The Will of God • Acts of the Spirit (Part 2)

This passage marks a unique moment in church history—before the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost. The Apostles relied on biblical precedent to discern God's will, understanding that He is in control of all outcomes.

Acts 2 • Joel Fulfilled • Acts of the Spirit (Part 3)

The outpouring of the Spirit was not just a historical event—it’s a reality for believers today! As Peter preached, those who heard were "pierced to the heart" and asked, What shall we do? The answer remains the same: Repent, be baptized, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit!

Acts 3 • Empowered to Act • Acts of the Spirit (Part 4)

The Spirit’s power wasn’t just for the apostles—it’s for us today! Like Peter, we are called to act in faith, trusting in the power and authority of Jesus to transform lives. The question remains: Will we walk in boldness and faith, empowered by the Holy Spirit?

Acts 4 • Living Bold in the Face of Opposition • Acts of the Spirit (Part 5)

How should we respond when our faith is challenged? In Acts 4, Peter and John are arrested after boldly healing a man and proclaiming Jesus’ resurrection. Yet even in the face of pressure from powerful leaders, they refuse to stay silent. Filled with the Holy Spirit, they declare that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus.

Matthew 21:1–11 • Hosanna: The Cry for a King Who Saves • Holy Week (Part 1)

In Matthew 21, Jesus enters Jerusalem not with might and war horses—but with humility, riding a donkey’s colt. The crowds cry out “Hosanna!”—a word that means “Save us!” They were longing for freedom from Roman oppression, expecting a political savior. But Jesus came to answer a deeper cry.

We’re Nathan + Hannah Sanchez.

Our journey to Covenant Community Church began with a call to build a faith-centered community right here in Washington. After years of serving in various churches and seasons of prayerful waiting, we felt God’s leading to plant a church grounded in discipleship, biblical teaching, and missional living. What started as a small gathering in a living room has grown into a thriving community passionate about following Jesus together. We can’t wait to get to know you and walk alongside you in faith!
